Following a rumor from earlier this week that claimed that Intel might power a new version of Google Glass that’ll launch in 2015, we may now have an idea of what the outside of Google’s new Glass will look like.
Google recently filed for a patent on a “wearable display device” that looks like a refreshed version of Google Glass. The wearable has a band with ear hooks on both sides, and the two sides appear to be the same size, unlike the original model that has one large side that houses a battery. The unit also has an attachment that looks to house a touchpad and the display of the device.
Seeing a device in the form of a drawing in a patent filing and seeing the unit in real life are two very different things, so we shouldn’t make too many evaluations about the new Google Glass based on this filing. The unit in the filing does look much nicer than the OG Google Glass, though, with a slimmer, better design and what might be a texture on the touchpad that’ll make it easier for wearers to find.
What do you think of this refreshed version of Google Glass? Would you wear it on your face every day?
