Just a week ago, Motorola took the wraps off of the DROID Turbo, it’s new flagship smartphone that has a super high-res display and gigantic battery. That device is exclusive to Verizon, which means that most of us can’t have it, but thankfully Motorola is crafting an international variant for everyone else.
The Moto Maxx is basically Motorola’s global version of the DROID Turbo. It’s got the same 5.2-inch Quad HD (2560x1440) display, 21-megapixel camera with 4K video capture and beefy 3900mAh battery. Also included is “the most powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon processor” (likely the 805 that’s in the Turbo), 64GB of storage, 4G LTE and a ballistic nylon outer body with a layer of Kevlar beneath it.
Motorola says that the Moto Maxx will be available from its website starting today in Brazil, with a Mexico launch planned for mid-November. The Maxx is slated to arrive in more Latin American countries “soon.”
While most of Verizon’s new smartphones come unlocked and with support for GSM networks, that doesn’t mean that those devices are super easy for everyone to buy. That’s why it’s great to see the Moto Maxx for international markets, complete with all of the same specs of the DROID Turbo. Here’s to hoping that we see an even wider Moto Maxx release in the future.
Would you buy the Moto Maxx if it were made available in your country?
