We’ve been hearing about Spotify family plans for a couple of years now, but it looks like the offerings are finally almost here.
Spotify announced today that Spotify Family will launch globally “over the upcoming weeks.” The Spotify Family plan account can support up to five members altogether. The first member will pay the regular $10 per month premium price, but each additional member will cost only $5. So two users will pay $15, three will pay $20, four will pay $25 and five will pay $30.
Spotify says that its family plan offers its Premium tier for everyone, meaning that each user will have access to ad-free music and will have support for offline tunes as well. Each account will have its own playlists and recommendations, and all users will be able to play music at the same time.
Other major music streaming services have offered family plans for quite a while, so it’s nice to see that Spotify will finally roll out a similar offering. The pricing’s not bad, especially if you’ve already got a family member or two paying for their own full-price subscription.
Will you sign up for Spotify Family when it launches?
