Apparently this is the week of Shamu. First we got a mock-up and some spec details on the rumored Motorola Nexus smartphone, then a purported photo of the back of the device emerged. Now an image of what may be the front of the phone has leaked.
A Droid-Life commenter recently posted an image of a device showing its “About phone” screen. The screen shows that the Shamu is running an AOSP version of Android L, complete with a kernel built by Google in late August.
The dark image doesn’t let us see much of the Motorola Shamu itself, but after a few edits, we can make out a bit more of the device, which has rounded edges. We can also see that it’s got Motorola prototype trademarks in the upper left corner and at the bottom of the unit, just like we’ve seen on leaked Motorola units in the past.
These new images don’t reveal much in the way of new information about the Motorola Shamu, but they do seem to add weight to rumors of the device’s existence as a Google-backed Nexus phone. As a quick refresher, the Motorola Shamu is rumored to pack a 5.92-inch 2560x1440 display, 13-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front cameras, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and a Snapdragon 805 processor.
