Last week, T-Mobile unveiled its next big carrier move, dubbed Wi-Fi Un-leashed. Today there’s some even bigger news for T-Mo and its customers, but this time its ZTE doing the announcing.
ZTE has officially announced the ZTE ZMAX, a new Android smartphone that features a big ol’ 5.7-inch 1280x720 screen and an equally large 3400mAh battery. The ZMAX also offers 8-megapixel rear and 1.6-megapixel front cameras, 16GB of storage, a microSD slot, a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor and Android 4.4. The dimensions for the new phablet are 6.4” x 3.3” x 0.35” (162.56 x 83.82 x 8.89mm).
The ZTE ZMAX will be available from T-Mobile starting September 24 for $0 down and 24 monthly payments of $10.50 each ($252 total). So while the ZMAX might be big, its price tag isn’t.
Big smartphones are popular trend in mobile, and the ZMAX is taking advantage of that. Many of the large phones that are released nowadays are fairly high-end and fairly pricey, though, so ZTE and T-Mobile have decided to offer a big handset that’s fairly affordable. And while its screen is big, the combination of its 720p resolution, Snapdragon 400 chip and 3400mAh battery should help it to last a long, long time.
