After appearing in a couple of teasers, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook is now official and available for purchase.
Barnes & Noble and Samsung today finally came clean with the price and spec details for its Galaxy Tab 4 Nook tablet. The Android-powered slate is available for purchase for $179.99. Buyers can select either a black or white unit, and free shipping is available.
In terms of specs, we’re looking at a 7-inch 1280x800 display, 3-megapixel rear and 1.3-megapixel front cameras, 8GB of storage, a microSD slot with support for cards up to 32GB in size and a battery that B&N says is good for “up to 10 hours” of general use. Barnes & Noble is also throwing in $200 worth of books, magazines and TV shows, as well as a $5 credit to buy more content.
It’s also worth noting that while this is a Nook device, it comes with the standard Google Play store preinstalled. That means that you’ll be able to download the same apps that any regular Android device has access to.
What do you think of Barnes & Noble’s decision to offer the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook as a part of its tablet/eReader family? Do you use a regular tablet for reading books or do you have a dedicated eReader?
