Despite the fact that the rumor mill claims that Apple is prepping 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch versions of the iPhone 6, most of the leaks that we’ve seen thus far have focused on the 4.7-incher. Today it’s the iPhablet’s time in the spotlight, though.
Jailbreak-focused site Evasi0njailbreak.com has shared photos of what’s said to be the rear panel for Apple’s 5.5-inch iPhone 6. The part looks similar to the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 panel that’s leaked out before, sporting a cutout Apple logo and mostly metal construction, though obviously this component is a big larger.
These photos are said to have originated from a source “deep within Apple’s supply chain in China.” The tipster reportedly went on to say that the part is limited and might only be meant for testing.
The iPhone 6 is expected to make its debut on Sept. 9. The 4.7-inch model is said to have entered production in July, while the 5.5-inch unit is said to have started production this month. Some have suggested that the 5.5-inch model could be delayed, but it seems very un-Apple for the company to release one new iPhone in September and then another one months later.
What do you think of this 5.5-inch iPhone 6? Between it and the 4.7-incher, which model would you rather have?
