The LG G3 has only been official for a few months at this point, but we’ve already seen LG announce two variants of the device and leak a third. Today the list of LG G3 variants is growing again with the LG G3 A.
The LG G3 A is higher-end than its recently-announced G3 Beat sibling, boasting a 5.2-inch 1920x1080 display that’s larger and higher-res than the Beat’s 5-inch 1280x720 panel. The G3 A also features a 2.26GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor (the Beat has a Snapdragon 400 chip), 13-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization and Laser Auto Focus, a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera and a removable 2610mAh battery. Also included is 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and a microSD slot.
LG says that the G3 A is currently exclusive to Korean carrier SKT. The Android 4.4-powered handset will launch at a price of 704,000 South Korean Won, which works out to approximately $678.90 USD.
The LG G3 A looks like an interesting Android handset. It’s smaller and lower-res than the flagship LG G3, but its 5.2-inch 1080p display and quad-core Snapdragon 800 are still respectable, as are most of its other features. The G3 A’s pricing could probably stand to be a tad lower if it is offered in other markets, but overall it looks like a nice handset for folks that combines G2 specs with the G3 design and software user interface.
