Yesterday we got our first peek at the white BlackBerry Passport thanks to an image leaked by the rumor mill. Today we’re getting a second look at the pale ‘Berry, but this time the source of the image is just a bit more official.
BlackBerry has taken to its official Inside BlackBerry blog to post an image of the white BlackBerry Passport. The device looks just like the one in the leaked image that surfaced yesterday, sporting an all-white face with a frosty white keyboard.
In addition to sharing this photo, BlackBerry published a short Q&A with the Passport’s designers. They explain that the Passport’s white hue was chosen to compliment the “warmth of the unique stainless steel frame.” The designers also say that the Passport’s backside has a “porcelain feel” coating that’s smooth yet provides a grip for the user.
As I mentioned yesterday, BlackBerry has a history of offering white versions of its smartphones, so it’s no surprise to see that a white Passport is in the works. Unfortunately for fans of white ‘Berrys, it’s not yet clear if this white Passport will launch alongside the black version in September. I’m partial to white smartphones, so here’s to hoping that it does.
