Earlier this month, we got wind of a Google Play Store update that was bringing with it refreshed, Material Design-style app pages. At the time we didn’t know when the update would be rolling, but it looks like the wait ended up being pretty short.
A Google Play Store update is now rolling out that bumps the app marketplace up to version 4.9.13 and brings with it the refreshed Material Design pages that previously leaked out. The makeover brings large cover images, more spacing between the content on the pages and a more colorful reviews section.
Google took the wraps off of Material Design at its Google I/O developer conference earlier this year, teasing a look that’s expected to be a big part of Android L. It’s no surprise to see Google applying this new look to its existing Android apps, as doing so will help to get users ready for the full-on Android L overhaul and also make sure that the OS has a cohesive look when the update does begin rolling out.
Expect this Google Play update to roll out to users in phases over the coming days. If you’re rocking an Android device and would like to check out this Material Design-ified Play Store right this second, you can find a direct download at the Droid-Life link below.
