When Google first announced Android Wear in March, it said that it had already signed on several hardware partners that include ASUS, HTC, LG, Motorola and Samsung. Fast-forward to today and we’ve got LG and Samsung’s offerings on our wrists, and Motorola’s is coming soon. But what about the others?
Today @evleaks has shared what he describes as an “artist reproduction” of HTC’s Android Wear device. While the content on the screen is just there for fun and not representative of what the final product may look like, the hardware is said to be a “100% faithful reproduction.”
There’s not a ton of information on HTC’s Android Wear device that we can glean from this reproduction, but we can see that the unit’s got a square face with rounded corners, not unlike the LG G Watch. There’s also a steel band attached to the face.
HTC hasn’t said much about it’s upcoming smartwatch, but one company exec teased back in February that an HTC wearable device is due out by the 2014 holiday season.
Given HTC’s recent hardware efforts like the One (M7) and One (M8), a lot of folks are excited to see what it can do with a smartwatch. The unit shown in this reproduction doesn’t look particularly stunning, but we’ll have to reserve judgment until we can see the real deal.
What do you think of this leaked HTC Android Wear device? Are you looking forward to the arrival of HTC’s smartwatch?
