Well, that didn’t take long. Just 24 hours after we got our first peek at what’s expected to be NVIDIA’s new Shield Tablet, it appears that nearly every detail about the gaming-centric device has leaked out.
Documents shared by VideoCardz claim to reveal the full spec details for the NVIDIA Shield Tablet as well as its possible release date. The device shown in these images looks just like the tablet that leaked out yesterday. And in case you’re curious about how hardcore gaming can work on a tablet without physical buttons, well, it looks like NVIDIA’s got a controller for that.
The docs show that the NVIDIA Shield Tablet and its wireless Shield Controller will launch in the U.S. and Canada on July 29 and in Europe on August 14, with more regions to follow in the fall. Pricing will be set at $299 for the 16GB Wi-Fi Shield Tablet, $399 for the 32GB LTE model, $39 for a Shield Tablet cover and $59 for a Shield Controller.
Wondering what you’ll get in exchange for your hard-earned dollars? Wonder no more, friend:
Shield Tablet
Shield Controller
If these specs hold true, the NVIDIA Shield Tablet sounds like it’ll be a pretty powerful piece of Android kit. The switch to a tablet rather than making another controller with a display bolted on seems like a wise move as well, as it’ll let owners use the tablet as a tablet for browsing the web or taking part in casual gaming if they’d like.
What do you make of this NVIDIA Shield Tablet leak? If it holds true, will you buy a unit?
