Samsung finally ended months of hype and teases by officially revealing the Samsung Z in early June, promising that the Tizen smartphone would launch in the third quarter. Unfortunately, it sounds like the Z may miss its launch date. To help us cope with the delay, some Tizen conference attendee has shared images of the gold Samsung Z in the wild.
The folks at Tizen Experts have shared photos of the gold Samsung Z hanging out at the Tizen Developer Summit Russia 2014. Just as we saw in the official Samsung Z renders, the gold model looks just like the black version, complete with a rectangular body and physical home button. However, the gold handset’s backside and the ring around its home button are painted gold.
As a quick refresher, the Samsung Z boasts a 4.8-inch 1280x720 Super AMOLED display, 2.3GHz quad-core processor, 8-megapixel rear and 2.1-megapixel front cameras, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a microSD card slot and a 2600mAh battery. Overall the Z looks like a decent crack at a first Tizen smartphone. Now we just need the thing to actually launch to the public so we can see how it and the Tizen OS perform IRL.
