This year, we've read a number of reports and seen numerous leaks of supposed "prime" versions of Android flagships. With Samsung, its premium version of the Galaxy S5, the S5 LTE-A, was shown to have a Quad HD display. The same resolution as what's on the LG G3. A device which - itself - has been subject to its own "Prime" model rumors. Those rumors - it seems - have turned in to reality. 

In Korea, a higher-spec version of the LG G3 has just been made available for pre-order. Boasting LTE-Advanced (or LTE-A for short), the device is pretty much the same as the G3 released in the U.S. this week. Its key difference is the LTE-A. 

Cat.6 LTE - as shown in the poster - is capable of theoretical download speeds of up to 300Mbps. Roughly twice as fast as the fastest 20+20 wideband LTE network available on T-Mobile. Which, in and of itself, points to a different chipset being required to power the device. The G3's Snapdragon 801 processor features a Cat. 4 LTE modem. So it can't be that. Qualcomm's Snapdragon 805 chipset, however, is compatible with Cat. 6 LTE. And it's the same chip found in the Galaxy S5 LTE-A. It stands to reason then, that the "Prime" G3 has the same processor. 

It's not know if the device will launch internationally. LG hinted that it might be available in some parts of the world this fall. But nothing is confirmed.
