Sony has shown that it’s not afraid to refresh its flagship Xperia Z smartphone family more often than the annual release cycle that most other OEMs follow. It gave us the Xperia Z in January 2013, the Z1 in September 2013 and the Z2 in February 2014. It should come as no surprise, then, that Sony is reportedly cooking up a new Xperia Z3.
Some new images that claim to show the Sony Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact have leaked out. Originally posted to Chinese forum Digi-wo, the photos show some Sony-branded front panels that are reminiscent of previous Xperia Z models. They include thin bezels on the sides of the display and beefy top and bottom portions.
There’s not much that we know about this Xperia Z3 quite yet, but if the past Xperia Z models are any indication, then the Xperia Z3 will place a focus on its cameras and display. It’s kind of a bummer for Xperia Z2 fans that the Xperia Z3 may only be a few months out, but as I mentioned before, Sony has shown before that it’s a fan of the rapid refresh cycle.
What do you make of these alleged Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact parts? Are you interested in what the Xperia Z3 might bring?
