The OnePlus One isn’t the easiest smartphone to buy. After it was made official, OnePlus ran a “Smash the Past” promo to sell the first 100 units to consumers that smashed or donating their current smartphone. Now the company is sending out invitations to select users to buy units, widening the One’s availability, but unfortunately the device still isn’t readily available to all.
That’s changing now, as the OnePlus One can be purchased right this second from OppoMart. The model that’s available is the 16GB Silk White version.
Buying from OppoMart comes with a few caveats that are worth noting, though: the unit that’s available costs $399, which is $100 more than OnePlus is asking for the Silk White variant, and the OppoMart version comes preloaded with Oppo’s custom ColorOS Android overlay. OppoMark says that buyers will be able to update to the OnePlus One’s official CyanogenMod ROM in the future.
It’s also worth pointing out that OnePlus itself has given consumers a few reasons to be patient and buy a One from it rather than OppoMart. Those reasons include:
Obviously the fact that the OnePlus One isn’t readily available to all is frustrating, especially since paying $299 for a flagship phone with a 5.5-inch 1080p display and quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor is such a good deal. For those folks that just can’t wait for OnePlus to expand its availability, this OppoMart offer could be worth taking advantage of. For those folks that don’t want to risk having a semi-functional/bricked phone, though, you may want to want for OnePlus sales to expand.
Are any of you thinking about buying a OnePlus One from OppoMart?
