Despite the fact that the app selection on Windows Phone is improving fairly regularly, there are still some folks that feel that the Windows Phone Store is a bit lacking. Today Microsoft can cross one more big-name app off of its “Need to Get” list, though, as Pinterest has launched its own Windows Phone app.
Available now from the Windows Phone Store, the Pinterest Beta app lets users view and follow other Pinterest folk, pin items to their own board and more. The app is 1MB in size and is compatible with Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 8.1.
The arrival of an official Pinterest app may not be a big deal to some Windows Phone folk, but Pinterest is still a major social network that a lot of folks use. The launch of an official Pinterest app is big for Windows Phone as a platform because it helps Microsoft’s OS to close the app gap between it, Android and iOS just a bit more.
