Samsung unveiled its new flagship, the Galaxy S5, earlier this year and now the device is on the shelves of several carriers around the globe. If the GS5 isn’t doing it for you, though, Samsung may be cooking up something even higher-end for you.
Samsung is rumored to be prepping a new device known as the “Galaxy F” or “Galaxy S5 Prime.” As the latter moniker suggests, the device is expected to be a higher-end version of the Galaxy S5 with a 2560x1440 display, up from the GS5’s 1920x1080 screen. Samsung will also reportedly replace the GS5’s plastic housing with a metal one on the Galaxy F/S5 Prime.
PhoneArena claims to have received a few images of the Galaxy F/S5 Prime in the wild, giving us a clear look at the rumored device. The photos show a handset that features a Galaxy S5 design, include a square round camera, physical home button and heart rate sensor. However, this new device looks to have a brushed metal backside and smaller bezels around its display.
While still very much unconfirmed at this point, these new Galaxy F/S5 Prime images seem to give a bit of support to the rumors surrounding this device. If the phone in these images is the real deal, it looks like a pretty snazzy smarpthone that ought to please folks that don’t care for the Galaxy S5’s plastic construction and 1080p display.
Based on what we’ve heard about it so far, what do you think about this Galaxy F/S5 Prime? Will you upgrade to one if it’s released later this year like the rumors claim it will be?
