Last month, Google opened up sales of its Google Glass eyewear to all U.S. consumers for a single day, giving anyone the opportunity to drop $1500 and become an Explorer. Now El Goog is doing it again, but this time the sales period should last a bit longer.
Google has announced that it’s kicking off a more open beta of its Google Glass Explorer Program. This means that, once again, anyone in the U.S. can buy a Glass unit as long as its in stock in Google’s online shop. Just as before, Google Glass costs $1500, and the five colors available for purchase are Charcoal, Tangerine, Cotton, Shale and Sky.
Obviously the beta nature of Google Glass, as well as its $1500 price tag, means that not everyone should take part in this more open beta. For those folks with cash to burn and an eagerness to help Google test its wearable ahead of the public launch, though, you can now easily get some Glass of your very own.
Are any of you thinking about pulling the $1500 trigger on Google Glass?
