Earlier this month, the Republic Wireless version of the Moto X was added to Moto Maker, giving Republic customers the chance to create a Moto X of their very own. Now those Moto X folk are getting another treat in the form of a serving of KitKat.
Republic Wireless has announced that it’s started to roll Android 4.4.2 out to its version of the Moto X. The update is being made available to 2,000 customers initially so that Republic can make sure everything is working smoothly before the full-on push. The phased rollout will continue until April 30, at which point another batch of users will receive the update. Republic says that all Moto X-ers should have 4.4.2 by May 9.
As for what’s included, here’s what Republic Wireless customers can expect to find once their Moto X has been loaded up with KitKat:
While the Republic Wireless version of the Moto X is receiving its helping of KitKat a bit later than the other variants, what matters is that the device is finally almost on the newest version of Android. And considering all of the goodies that are coming with the update to 4.4.2, I’m sure most Moto X owners on Republic will forget all about the extra wait once the update makes its way to their neck of the woods.
