As someone who has always tried to avoid using iTunes to sync my mobile devices, I was excited to give Wondershare's TunesGo a try. I've hated the layout and look of iTunes for years, and while I've used Apple's software when I had to, it's never managed to win me over. Going into my trial of Wondershare TunesGo, I had hoped that I could eliminate iTunes from my life altogether. And while it's nearly impossible to own an Apple device without using iTunes, I was pleased with the amount of control TunesGo gave me.

Wondershare's TunesGo is an easy-to-use program that's available for both Mac and Windows. TunesGo is $39.95 for the full version and acts as a middleman between your Apple devices and your computer. It makes backing up, transferring, restoring, importing or exporting information a cinch. Many iOS device owners may be using iTunes for their syncing needs, but I think that many of them will find that the clean UI of TunesGo is very welcoming and easy to understand.

Most basic functions, such as backing up and transferring content, are fairly easy to perform with iTunes. That said, I can't tell you how many times I've run into situations where a friend lost their precious information because they simply didn't know how to use iCloud or didn't want to take the time to figure out how to use iTunes. This is where TunesGo really shines. The software is brilliant and has a simple user interface that will be attractive to anyone that wants to rid their lives of iTunes. 

I was very pleased with how easily TunesGo managed different types of content. When it came to backing up my contacts, I was able to back up my contacts to an iCloud profile and also export them to an Outlook Express or Windows Address Book account. I was also able to manage and export my SMS history and transfer content to another Apple device without issue. 

Wondershare's TunesGo provides a great alternative for managing iOS devices. There will always be some people that prefer iTunes and iCloud, especially since those services are mostly free, but it's nice to know that there is also a well-built alternative out there.

The Wrap-up

The Good: The clean and efficient design of TunesGo makes managing all of your iOS devices a breeze. Handy multidevice management and SMS backup make the program shine.

The Bad: TunesGo's steep $39.95 price point will make it hard to convince iTunes and iCloud fans to consider Wondershare's software.

The Verdict: If you've been struggling with content management on your iOS devices and don't mind the $39.95 price, I would definitely recommend Wondershare's TunesGo. It will make your life easier, and the added SMS backup and multi-device management systems are great features to have.
