In a landslide victory during week 106 of PhoneDog’s Official Smartphone Rankings (OSR), the HTC One became the People’s Choice top device for an astonishing 52nd straight week. After a full year on top, we congratulate HTC, the fans of the One and the voters of the OSR. Will next week’s announcement of the all new HTC One (M8) bring the end of the original model’s reign?
MT PLEASANT, SC – March 18, 2014 – PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR), is the gold standard for ranking the best smartphones on the market by placing votes from readers and experts in their respective charts. It’s clear that the People’s Choice for best smartphone is the HTC One, as it’s been on top of that list for the past year. Earning 246 votes last week, the HTC One dominated the rest of the field, including the second place Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and its 58 votes. Collecting 32 votes and taking back third place after two weeks away is the LG G2. Following close behind is the Google Nexus 5 with 30 votes and the Apple iPhone 5s with 25 votes.
The back and forth race for the top spot on the Experts’ Choice chart continued this week, with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 edging out the Apple iPhone 5s by one point. The two phones finished with 32 and 31 points, respectively. As those two continue to trade positions, the Moto X has made its way back into third place with 26 points, while the HTC One and Google Nexus 5 rounded out the top five with 20 and 18 points each.
“What an amazing year of domination on the Official Smartphone Rankings for the HTC One and its fans,” said Rebecca Atwood, Vice President of PhoneDog Media.
