Following BlackBerry's announcement of the BlackBerry 10.2.1 update back at the tail end of January, Verizon has started pushing the new software to its versions of the BlackBerry Z10, Q10 and Z30.
The 10.2.1 update is a beefy one, bringing with it major new features like a customizable Quick Settings menu, a simplified Phone UI, the ability to install Android APK files directly from the browser, email of File Manager and much, much more. Here's a quick rundown of the goodies packed inside of BlackBerry 10.2.1:
- Pinch to Prioritize: Pinch to filter messages in BlackBerry Hub
- Customized Quick Settings: Customize toggles and options in Quick Settings menu

- Wi-Fi Direct: On Q10 and Z30, share content with other devices without need for wireless access point
- BlackBerry Calendar "I Will Be Late": Send message to meeting participants if you're running late
That's a pretty beefy changelog, no? Yes, BlackBerry 10.2.1 is a major update for anyone that's using a BB10 device as their daily driver, which is why it's good to see that the update is finally making its way to Verizon customers, nearly two months after it was initially announced. If you've got a Verizon Z10, Q10 or Z30 laying around, grab that thing and go into Settings > Software Updates > Check for Updates to see if you've got some new software waiting for you.
