MT PLEASANT, SC – March 12, 2014 – PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ (
OSR), is the gold standard for ranking the best smartphones on the market by placing votes from readers and experts in their respective charts. Not only did the HTC One win the top spot in the People’s Choice Rankings for week 105, it did so in dominating style, earning 235 votes. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 comfortably held onto second with 65 votes, followed by the LG Nexus 5 and its 24 votes. Making a jump into the People’s list is the Nokia Lumia 1520, which earned 22 votes and a fourth place finish. The LG G2 slid a spot this week, ending up in fifth with 21 votes. This sent the Experts’ favorite, the Apple iPhone 5s, out of the People’s top five for the week.
After 3 weeks and some very close races, the Apple iPhone 5s reclaimed its spot atop the Mobile Tech Experts’ list with 36 points. This 1 point victory over the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 continues to prove how tight the battle for the top spot remains. There were no other position changes this week, with the Nexus 5 finishing in third place with 25 points, the Moto X taking fourth with 24 points and the HTC One remaining in fifth with 16 points.
“In less than a week, the support the HTC One has received from the fans could result in it spending a full year atop the Official Smartphone Rankings People’s Choice charts, a milestone we never would’ve predicted for any device,” said Rebecca Atwood, Vice President of PhoneDog Media.
