Apparently Verizon's really into Android tablets lately. Earlier this month, the big red carrier launched LTE-capable versions of both the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 and LG G Pad 8.3, and now it's added another slate that fits right in-between those two models.
Verizon is now selling the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 - 2014 Edition with built-in LTE connectivity. Pricing for the device is set at $699.99 without a commitment or $599.99 with a two-year contract. Verizon customers on a More Everything plan can add the Note 10.1 - 2014 Edition to their account for an additional $10 per month.
The Verizon-flavored version of the Note 10.1 - 2014 Edition is fairly similar to the Wi-Fi-only model that debuted late last year. Both devices feature a 10.1-inch 2560x1600 display, 8-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front cameras, 32GB of storage and an S Pen stylus. The one difference between the two are their processors, with the Wi-Fi-only model packing a 1.9GHz octa-core chip and this LTE-enabled version housing a 2.3GHz quad-core processor.
Verizon's Note 10.1 - 2014 Edition certainly isn't the most wallet-friendly tablet that we've ever seen, but the pricing for this LTE version isn't terribly surprising when you remember that the 32GB Wi-Fi-only model retails for $599.99. While the price may be a turn-off for some, it's still nice to see the LTE-capable Note 10.1 - 2014 Edition make its way to U.S. shelves. After all, having more choice is always a good thing, right?
