Just a day after OnePlus revealed the details of the screen that'll be used on its One smartphone, the company has shared another feature of its upcoming device.
OnePlus staff member David S. announced today that his company has created a voice command feature that can recognize a user's voice and carry out tasks, even while the phone is locked. The feature is based on Qualcomm technology and will be included in the custom version of CyanogenMod that'll be loaded onto the OnePlus One. A poll asking users what the unlock command should be includes options like "OK, OnePlus!," "Wake up, OnePlus!" and "Alakazam!," with the first option leading the pack as of this writing.
This new voice command feature sounds similar to the Touchless Control functionality found on the Moto X, which allows users to do things like check the weather, perform searches and even find the phone itself. That feature is one of the more widely-praised parts of the Moto X, and so It'll be interesting to see how OnePlus's implementation compares to Motorola's.
Do you ever use voice commands with your mobile device?
