ZTE has announced some unique hardware in recent months, including its 6-inch Grand Memo II LTE, Eco-Mobius modular smartphone and Projector Hotspot, which is exactly what it sounds like. Apparently ZTE's got another special device up its sleeve, as a design firm has leaked images of an unannounced smartphone with a curved body.
Renders posted to the Red Dot 21 global design directory claim to show a device called the ZTE Grand S EXT. The Grand S EXT is described as being the first phone in to use Nano Molding Technology in 2014, a process that involves injecting plastic and metal into a mold and then adding a chamfer to create a lightweight, low-cost product that feels premium. The description also makes mention of some sort of smart dock with wireless charging functionality.
Based on these two images that've been posted by Red Dot 21, the Grand S EXT looks like an evolution of the original Grand S, complete with a panda look that includes a black front and white rear. Obviously the big difference between the two is the Grand S EXT's curved design, which ought to make it a bit more comfortable to hold. Unfortunately, the rest of the details on the Grand S EXT are fairly light, so for now we'll have to settle for the few details that we can glean from these two renders. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to do a little dance for getting through an entire post with making mention of the Grand S EXT's...interesting name.
