When Samsung announced the Galaxy S5 last week, it confirmed that the new flagship Android smartphone will be launching on AT&T, MetroPCS, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular and Verizon in the U.S. Those six carriers cover quite a few of the wireless subscribers in the States, but there are still some larger operators missing from that list. I've got some good news related to the Galaxy S5's availability today, though, as it's been confirmed that two more U.S. providers will be stocking the Galaxy S5 on their shelves.
Sprint has reached out to us to confirm that both Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile will offer the Samsung Galaxy S5. Both operators will begin selling the S5 in the second quarter, and Sprint also revealed the device will support its Sprint Spark LTE service.
There's no word yet on how much the Samsung Galaxy S5 will cost when it arrives on Boost and Virgin's shelves. The fact that they're both prepaid, no-contact carriers means that the S5 will likely carry a price tag of several hundred dollars. Even so, it's great to see Samsung's next flagship hitting both Boost and Virgin, especially since their Q2 launches means that there won't be a months-long wait between the S5's initial launch and its arrival on Boost and Virgin.
