Fan-favorite smartphone the HTC One remained number one for a staggering 49th consecutive week while the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 stayed in the top spot on our mobile tech experts’ list. Can the new Windows Phone 8-powered Nokia Lumia Icon from Verizon Wireless give chase to any of the devices that have dominated the Official Smartphone Rankings for months?
MT PLEASANT, SC – February 27, 2014 – PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR), is the gold standard for ranking the best smartphones on the market by placing votes from readers and experts in their respective charts. Heading into week 103, the HTC One has taken 105 votes to earn the People’s Choice crown. Right behind it is the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with 62 votes, the LG G2 with 40 votes, LG Nexus 5 and its 37 votes and the Apple iPhone 5s with 20 votes.
Our mobile tech experts have been going back and forth with their number one selection, but not this week. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 stayed put for a second week in a row to top their side of the charts with 35 points. This meant the Apple iPhone 5s stayed in second again with 30 points. Rounding out the top five is the Moto X with 22 points, LG’s Nexus 5 with 20 points, and the HTC One and its 15 points.
“Some of the devices announced at MWC 2014 this week could have the potential to be top smartphones on the OSR, include the Samsung Galaxy S5, which is scheduled for an April release.” said Rebecca Atwood, Vice President of PhoneDog Media.
