After the excitement of hitting week 100, PhoneDog’s Official Smartphone Rankings (OSR) moves on with the top of the line HTC One and Apple iPhone 5s remaining number one on the People’s Choice chart and Mobile Tech Experts chart. LG made some moves this week, including the G2 taking second place on the People’s Choice chart. Will specs like a 2.26GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU and 5.2-inch 1080p display help the G2 to reach the top position this week?
MT PLEASANT, SC – February 12, 2014 – PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR), the gold standard for ranking the best smartphones on the market by placing votes from readers and experts in their respective charts, continues on this week with a much-needed shakeup in the top five positions of both charts. The HTC One held onto first place on the People’s Choice chart by earning 114 votes, while the LG G2 garnered 56 votes and jumped two positions to second. This means the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 fell to third, which sent the Google Nexus 5 down a notch to fourth. Holding onto its number five spot was the Nokia Lumia 1520.
For a second straight week, the Apple iPhone 5s took first place with our experts. The 30 points awarded to the 5s gave it just enough to beat the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, which accumulated 29 points. Moving up the charts and finishing third was the Google Nexus 5 and its 17 points. Falling down a notch this week were the Moto X and HTC One, which earned 17 points and 14 points, respectively.
“Movement in the charts is exactly what we like to see in the Official Smartphone Rankings,” said Rebecca Atwood, Vice President of PhoneDog Media. “It keeps the fans and experts involved, and proves that updates to a device’s OS or a price drop are being noticed each week by our voters.”
