There have been quite a few devices updated to Android 4.4 lately, including the Moto X, HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S 4, but there are plenty more that are still awaiting their own serving of KitKat. There's some good news today for owners of certain ASUS PadFone models, as the maker of the phone-tablet dock combo devices has revealed its Android 4.4 update plans for several devices.
ASUS has confirmed that the PadFone 2, PadFone Infinity, PadFone A80 and New PadFone Infinity will all be bumped up to KitKat. Along with a bump up to the newest version of Android, ASUS says that the updates will include its ZenUI overlay that's found on the ZenFone models that were announced at CES. It's good to see ASUS committing to updates to several of its PadFone models, especially the PadFone 2, which was originally introduced way back in late 2012. The owners of these devices may still have to wait a bit before they actually get their KitKat update, but at least now they know that it's coming. ASUS says that it'll spill more specific details on its rollout plans at a later date; as soon as it does, you can bet that I'll give you a heads-up.
