Looks like we won't have to wait until March 25 to get a good look at the HTC M8.
Hot on the heels of HTC's announcement of its upcoming event, an image that purportedly shows the One successor in a protective case has been shared by @evleaks. The phone features the same BlinkFeed screenshot from a previous leak, complete with on-screen navigation buttons. Meanwhile, the phone itself is a dark gray color with front-facing BoomSound speakers, a front-facing camera and what appears to be a dual-LED flash on its face.
According to the rumor mill, the HTC M8 will be coming to market with a spec list that includes a 5-inch 1080p display, quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, a pair of rear cameras, 2GB of RAM and Android 4.4 KitKat running beneath HTC's custom Sense 6 user interface. If that list holds true, the M8 ought to make for a nice upgrade over the original HTC One, which features a 4.7-inch 1080p display and a Snapdragon 600 chip.
One detail that is still up in the air is the final name of HTC's next flagship smartphone. We've heard all kinds of suggestions, including HTC One Two and plain ol' HTC One, but so far there's been no concrete evidence of what the phone will actually be called. We'll find out once and for all at HTC's event next month, and until then we can pass the time by ogling this leaked image of the M8 in a protective shell.
Based on what we can see of the M8 in this image, do you like the design that HTC settled on for its next big smartphone?
UPDATE: After posting the image up above, @evleaks shared a bit more information regarding the HTC M8, saying "Yes, Virginia, the M8 really does have a second rear camera lens."
