Microsoft's Windows Phone is starting to grow in popularity. Everywhere I go around the 'net, I see a lot of the same thing: I love Windows Phone. There's no doubt that Microsoft's still got quite the hill in front of them when it comes to market share, or mobile presence in general, but it's also not a secret that they're getting better. Windows Phone is gaining ground, and that's a good thing.
Honestly, even if you aren't a big fan of Windows Phone, you have to admit that it's a good thing that the platform is gaining momentum. That means that we've got another company that's built to build things, new innovations, and bring new features to the mobile market in general. As long as there's competition, we'll be the winners.
Of course, the people who have adopted Windows Phone into their every day lives are probably the biggest winners. After all, they'll be the ones that benefit from Windows Phone's additions first-hand. At the same time, there'd probably be many folks who would say that Windows Phone's additions are already present in other platforms, so they may not be missing anything at all.
We've asked over the years how you'd change plenty of devices in the past, and I've most recently asked you why you just flat-out dislike iOS -- along with other devices that have landed in the market. But now I want to change pace, and ask a different question:
What would get you to switch over to Microsoft's mobile OS?
Recently, our own Anna Scantlin switched over to the "other OS," and the results have been mixed, as far as I can tell. Don't get me wrong, I can see that she's happy with the platform as a whole, and the device she went with, but obviously there's some room for improvements. Are these same situations the reason why you're not going with Microsoft's mobile OS yet?
The question I really want to ask, though: Have you used Windows Phone yet? Have you given it a real shot yet? And if you haven't, what's keeping you from doing so? A phone contract, or something else? And if you have tried it, what made you go back to whatever you were using before -- or switch to something else entirely?
