Following launches on both Boost Mobile and Verizon Wireless, it appears that the Moto G will continue its tour of U.S. carriers with another CDMA operator.
A leaked image of U.S. Cellular's internal system shows that the operator will begin offering the Moto G on Monday, Feb. 10. Like the Boost and Verizon variants, the U.S. Cellular Moto G will be sold without a contract and will feature 3G connectivity. One important difference between the three models is that, while the Boost and Verizon models shipped with Android 4.3 and received updates to Android 4.4 over the air, the U.S. Cellular flavor of the Moto G will come with KitKat preinstalled.
The Moto G represents Motorola's effort to create an affordable Android phone without skimping too much on specs. The device features a 4.5-inch 720p display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 5-megapixel rear camera and 2070mAh battery, all of which come together to make one of the best budget-friendly Android phones that we've seen in quite a while.
It's great to see that the Moto G will soon be making its way onto another U.S. carrier, giving more consumers the chance to pick up a respectable Android phone on the cheap. There's no word yet on how U.S. Cellular plans to price its version of the Moto G, but Verizon is currently asking $99.99 for its model while Boost is charging $129.99, and so I wouldn't be surprised if U.S. Cellular's pricing comes in somewhere around those two numbers.
