Got any plans for Monday, Feb. 24? If so, you'd better cancel 'em, because Samsung just announced that as the date for Unpacked 2014 Episode 1. The fun is scheduled to kick off at 8:00 p.m. CET (2:00 p.m. ET) in Barcelona, Spain, on the first day of Mobile World Congress. Don't fret if you can't splurge for tickets to Europe, though, because the inclusion of the YouTube URL on the announcement suggests that the whole shebang will be livestreamed for your viewing pleasure.
So what might Samsung have planned for the event? We do know that the Galaxy S5 is slated to debut by April, and the inclusion of the "5" in the announcement above certainly could be a tease for the next Galaxy S. It's also worth pointing out that Samsung has used MWC to introduce Galaxy S hardware in the past, though the two most recent models got their own special events later on in their respective debut years.
Samsung has also used the Barcelona stage to unveil some new tablet hardware, including the Galaxy Note 8.0 last year. At this point only Sammy knows exactly what will be shown at Unpacked 2014 Episode 1, but the good news is that the event is just a few weeks away, so it won't be long before all is finally revealed.
What do you think Samsung will show off at the next Unpacked event? Could it be the Galaxy S5 or does Samsung have something else up its sleeve for its Barcelona show?
