Every wireless customer has different data needs, and with the recent rise in tiered data and shared data plans, consumers have had to try and choose the data allotment that fits their needs best. Today Verizon announced that it'll soon add a new data bucket to its Share Everything plans for those subscribers that are extremely light data consumers.
The new Share Everything data add-on weighs in at 250MB in size and will set Verizon customers back $20 per month. When paired with the $40 per month smartphone line access, the total monthly price for the plan comes out to $60. The 250MB add-on will be available starting tomorrow, Jan. 21, and while Verizon says that it'll only be around for a limited time, it's not revealing exactly how long it plans to offer the plan.
Basic phone customers will also be able to sign up for the 250MB add-on. The cost of the data plan itself will still be $20, but basic phone users only need to shell out $30 per month for their access to the core Share Everything plan.
Obviously Verizon's new 250MB data plan is intended for those consumers that almost never browse the web or download apps onto their smartphone and only need a small data allotment for email or something similar. While it's unlikely that anyone reading this site will sign up for the 250MB plan, it's always good to have more options, especially since Verizon already offers extremely large data buckets for the more data-hungry crowd.
