With the excitement of CES in Las Vegas now behind us, PhoneDog’s Official Smartphone Rankings (OSR) awaits new devices like the Sony Xperia Z1S, LG G Flex, BLU Life products and much more to hit the charts in the coming weeks. MT PLEASANT, SC – January 14, 2014 – PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR), the gold standard for ranking the best smartphones on the market by placing votes from readers and experts in their respective charts, lands on week 97. Continuing its impressive hold on the People’s Choice charts, the HTC One held on to first place for a record 43rd consecutive week, earning 163 votes. On the other side of things, the mobile tech experts kept the Apple iPhone 5s on top of their side of the charts with 36 points, another one point win over the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
With no ties this week, the top five smartphones on the People’s Choice rankings ended with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 in second with 83 votes, the Google Nexus 5 with 60 votes, LG’s G2 with a total of 42 votes and the Nokia Lumia 1520 finding fifth place again with 34 votes. Our experts agreed with the second and third place smartphones, giving the Note 3 35 votes and the Nexus 5 a total of 24 votes. Rounding out the top five is the Moto X and HTC One, garnering 23 points and 18 points, respectively.
“Once the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is officially updated to Android 4.4.2 KitKat, I suspect it’ll see a surge in popularity on both sides of the charts.” said Rebecca Atwood, Vice President of PhoneDog Media.
