Well that didn't take long. Less than 24 hours after the Galaxy Note 3's Android 4.4.2 update leaked out, reports claiming that the official rollout is now underway have begun flowing in.

Polish owners of the Snapdragon 800-powered SM-N9005 variant of the Galaxy Note 3 are reportedly being treated to an official KitKat update starting today. That's according to SamMobile, which says that the update is version N9005XXUENA6, which is the same build that leaked out yesterday. The update is available through Samsung's Kies computer software and may be going out over the air as well.

So what kinds of goodies can Galaxy Note 3 owners expect to find once the update dust settles and they're running Android 4.4.2? In addition to the white status bar icons, lock screen album art and lock screen camera shortcut that we saw in yesterday's leak, the Note 3's update includes the ability to set the device's default messaging app, updated Google apps like Drive and Photos, additional Emojis and more. Samsung also notes that customers that own both the Note 3 and Galaxy Gear will need to update their Gear Manager app to version 1.6 when updating the Note 3 to Android 4.4.2.

As I mentioned before, Samsung is currently only pushing Android 4.4.2 to SM-N9005 Galaxy Note 3 units in Poland. That's probably kind of a bummer to Note 3 users in other parts of the globe, but it's fairly common for manufacturers to start small with their update rollouts to ensure that everything is working as it should before ramping up its push.

So when other Note 3 folk will get the chance to sink their teeth into KitKat? That's up in the air for now, but Note 3 owners in the U.S. should keep in mind that their updates will need to go through the carrier approval process before they're pushed out, so it could be a bit longer before Android 4.4.2 begins appearing on U.S. shores.
