Motorola went on quite a roll last year with its Android 4.4 updates for the Moto X, pushing KitKat to all of the U.S. carrier-branded models within about a month's time. Since then the company has kept itself busy by issuing updates for its unique apps, and today the company continued that trend by releasing a noteworthy update for its Motorola Assist app.
Motorola today announced a new update for its Assist app that allows users to reply to text messages using their voice. The image shows that uttering the phrase "send text" will initiate the process, giving owners of devices like the Moto X and Droid Maxx another way to control their phone with just their voice. Also included with this update to Assist are improvements to driving detection thanks to a updated version of Motorola Contextual Services, the ability to automatically launch a music app while driving and unspecified bug fixes.
This new Motorola Assist update sounds pretty spiffy for anyone that's got a device capable of running the app. It's nice to see Moto continue to improve its unique apps with fixes and new features, something that it's able to do thanks to its decision to release the apps in the Play Store rather than leaving them bundled on their devices.
