You know the saying "When it rains, it pours?" Apparently that applies to the Nokia Normandy as well, because another leaked render of the Android-powered device has surfaced, marking the third Normandy leak that we've seen in 24 hours.
Posted to Twitter by @evleaks, this latest image shows the Normandy in colors like green, blue, red and yellow. The unit in the front also has its display powered on, giving us a good look at the forked Android user interface. The UI is extremely reminiscent of Windows Phone, complete with app icons that are in colorful squares. The apps shown in this leak include the usual Phone and Messaging apps as well as Twitter, Plants vs. Zombies and Nokia's own MixRadio app.
Details on the Nokia Normandy hardware are still fairly light, but this latest leak does shed more light on the software that's powering the device. The Normandy is rumored to be powered by a customized version of Android, similar to the software on Amazon's Kindle Fire tablets, a decision that Nokia made so that it could offer a low-cost smartphone with access to an app catalog larger than the one available to its Asha handsets. Considering that Nokia has been all-in on Windows Phone as of late, it's no surprise to see that its forked Android to make it look like Microsoft's mobile OS, especially since the decision makes the Normandy look more like Nokia's Lumia smartphones.
