The year 2014 is upon us, and for another week the people and experts made it clear which smartphones they prefer in the latest edition of PhoneDog’s Official Smartphone Rankings. Winning a staggering 41 of 52 weeks, the HTC One was clearly the People’s Choice for the year of 2013. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 had an impressive year as well, taking the top spot in our Experts’ Choice ranks for 11 straight weeks. How much longer will these two smartphones continue to dominate the OSR charts?
MT PLEASANT, SC – December 30, 2013 – With only two days left in 2013, we’ve arrived at week 95 of PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR). The OSR is the gold standard for ranking the best smartphones on the market by placing votes from readers and experts in their respective charts. Closing out the year in high fashion, the HTC One lead the People’s Choice Rankings with 186 votes, while the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 earned a total of 34 expert points.
The Nokia Lumia 1520, a popular Windows Phone, climbed two spots on the People’s Choice rankings to finish with 28 votes and fifth place. Positions two through four remained the same as the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 took in 101 votes, the Google Nexus 5 earned 52 votes and the LG G2 held strong with 35 votes. There were no major changes in the Experts’ Choice rankings this week, as the Apple iPhone 5s finished second with 28 points, Google’s Nexus 5 garnered 22 votes and the still-popular Samsung Galaxy S 4 earned 15 points. The fifth and final spot went to the Moto X and its 14 points.
