October may have come and and gone without any Google Play Music app for iOS, but November isn't going to do us wrong. Today Google released its official Play Music app for iOS, giving owners of Apple's smartphone their very own way to enjoy Google's music catalog on the go.

The app supports Google Play Music All Access, which is the search company's subscription service that offers unlimited streaming of its over 20 million track catalog for $9.99 per month. Users that don't feel like ponying up for All Access can still use the Google Play Music app to listen to the up to 20,000 songs that they've got stored in Google's locker for free.

Also included with the Google Play Music for iOS app is a radio feature that will create a station based on an artist, album or song and recommend songs based on what the user has listened to in the past. That feature is open to All Access members, though users of the free version of Google Play Music can still have a radio station made for them using the music that's already in their catalog. Finally, an Explore feature offers recommendations and playlists made by real people.

Google Play Music for iOS weighs in at 4MB in size and requires iOS 6 or higher. The app is compatible with the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, and Google says that it's working on an iPad-optimized version of Google Play Music in the works. Overall the new Google Play Music for iOS app looks pretty nice, complete with a card-based design that's reminiscent of Google's other apps as well as support for the company's Chromecast streaming stick.

Google may have taken a bit longer to roll out Play Music for iOS than some folks would've liked, but all that matters now is that the app has finally hit the App Store's virtual shelves, giving users of Apple's mobile hardware another way to listen to some tunes on the go.
