Earlier today, Microsoft "prematurely" activated its product page for the Nokia Lumia 1520, complete with a $199.99 on contract price and Nov. 15 launch date. If a freshly-leaked document is to be believed, though, anyone interested in the first Windows Phone phablet may have to wait until a little later in November to try and squeeze it into their grip.
An inventory sheet posted by WPCentral lists all four colors of the AT&T-flavored Nokia Lumia 1520 with a launch date of Nov. 22, one week later than the date on the Microsoft product page that we saw earlier today. The document also shows that Verizon's version of the Lumia 2520 tablet will hit on Nov. 22 as well, and while AT&T's version of the Lumia 2520 is listed with a Nov. 21 launch date, it's said that a Nov. 22 release is more likely since AT&T typically launches its new hardware on Fridays.
As far as pricing goes, the Lumia 1520 will likely end up at $199.99 with a two-year contract, just like the aforementioned Microsoft product page showed. The Lumia 2520 is expected to carry a price tag of $499.99 at both AT&T and Verizon. A separate WPCentral leak shows that patient Verizon customers may be able to snag a Lumia 2520 for less, though, as the big red carrier is reportedly planning to discount its version of the Windows RT slate to $399.99 on Friday, Nov. 29, aka Black Friday.
All of the information contained in tonight's leaks should be considered unofficial and written on your calendar in pencil rather than pen. It's certainly possible that Microsoft and Nokia could be planning an all-out Windows and Windows Phone assault on Nov. 22, especially when you remember that that's also the day that Microsoft's Xbox One is slated to hit stores. Plus, a launch on Nov. 22 would allow Microsoft and Nokia to get all of its new goodies on shelves just in time for Black Friday and all of the shoppers that will crowd stores in November and December. I'll be sure to update you once we get official launch details from AT&T and Verizon, but if you're a fan of Microsoft and Nokia's hardware, it may not be a bad idea to start gathering your pennies now.
