Apparently Samsung isn't the only manufacturer that's interested in curved-screen smartphones. A new report from The Wall Street Journal claims that LG is prepping a new handset known as the "G Flex" that will feature a 6-inch, curved "plastic OLED" display. Sketches of the device show that the phone has a design that's reminiscent of the recently-released G2, as well as a curve that gives the entire phone a concave shape. The LG G Flex is expected to debut in November.
Most of the details of these curved phones from LG and Samsung are still up in the air, but the main draw of these two devices will be their curved screens. It'll definitely be interesting to see just how much of a curve the finished products have and what it's like to actually handle them. Having a curved body could help to make these phones more comfortable to hold and talk on than a traditional device, but we'll have to wait until we can actually wrap our mitts around these things before we know exactly what they're like to use.
Is a curved display a feature that you'd like to have on your next smartphone?
