At the rate that Sony's Xperia Z1 and lens camera attachments have been leaking, it doesn't seem like the company will have much left to show at its IFA 2013 event on Wednesday. Today we've got a couple more reports that are out to spoil Sony's announcements.
First up,
XperiaBlog has shared a handful of high-quality renders of the Sony Xperia Z1 "Honami" that it says are final press images. There's not a ton of new information to be found in these shots, but they do serve to give us a nice, clear look at the Xperia Z1 ahead of its official debut. Just like we've seen before, the phone sports a 20.7-megapixel G Lens-branded rear camera, dedicated camera key, Sony's OmniBalance design and a set of on-screen navigation buttons.
With its rumored 20.7-megapixel shooter, quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and 5-inch 1080p display, the Xperia Z1 looks like a nice follow-up to the
Xperia Z and a respectable flagship for Sony to finish out 2013 with. Perhaps the best news of all, though, is that the Xperia Z1 could begin hitting some carriers around the globe
later this month, which would be a welcome change from the releases of some past Sony handsets and would help to give the Xperia Z1 a better chance at competing with the likes of the
Galaxy Note III and
iPhone 5S.
The second leak today comes to us from
Photorumors is focused on Sony's "Smart Shot" lens camera accessories. These devices are cameras that are mean to attach to the back of an Android or iOS device and use it as a viewfinder. The two models, known as the QX10 and QX100, are expected to include lens stabilization and carry price tags of $250 and $450, respectively. Interestingly, one of the leaked images shows a model using one of the cameras without it being physically attached to the smartphone.
