Following a rumor from earlier this week that claimed that the Nokia Lumia 925 would soon be making its way to more U.S. carriers, a new report has come forward with some additional details on the phone's travel plans.
According to two of WPCentral's "trusted sources," AT&T will launch a black version of the Nokia Lumia 925 in mid-September for $99 with a two-year contract. The Lumia 920 is expected to stick around in AT&T's lineup even after the arrival of the Lumia 925, and it's said that the Lumia 920 will soon have its price cut to $49 on contract.
The Lumia 925 originally launched as a T-Mobile exclusive in July. The Windows Phone 8 handset features a 4.5-inch 1280x768 AMOLED display, 8.7 megapixel rear and and 1.2-megapixel front-facing cameras, 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, and 4G LTE connectivity.
AT&T certainly isn't exactly experiencing a shortage of Windows Phone offerings, but it's always good to see a phone's availability expanded to more operators, as that gives more consumers the opportunity to pick that particular model up. With the arrival of the Lumia 925, AT&T customers will have the majority of Nokia's Lumia lineup at their disposal, including 3 of its 4 flagship Windows Phone 8 models. Sounds like ol' blue is a good place for Windows Phone fans to be.
In a separate report, The Verge today claimed that Nokia is planning to show off new products at an event that's tentatively scheduled for Sept. 26. That echoes a recent rumor that alleged that a Nokia event will go down in late September. That earlier report went on to suggest that Nokia will use the event to show off its rumored "Bandit" phone/tablet hybrid, which will reportedly feature a 6-inch 1080p display, quad-core processor and a camera that's "at least 20-megapixels."
