The latter of those to devices is the subject of a new leak that's come out today, giving folks that are eager to tap away on the long-rumored Nokia tablet something to chew on.
Sources speaking to The Verge claim that Nokia's tablet, codenamed "Sirius," features a colored body that's similar to the company's Lumia line of Windows Phone handsets. The entire package is said to be thinner than Apple's iPad as well as around a pound lighter. Images of a bright red Nokia tablet leaked earlier this month, but that unit is described as being a prototype.
When it comes to specs, Nokia's Sirius tablet is expected to include a 10.1-inch 1920x1080 display that's able to output a bright image for improved readability while outdoors. There's also said to be a 6-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front-facing shooter on the device. Reportedly buried inside this Finnish slate is a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 32GB storage, microSD card slot, 2GB RAM, 4G LTE support and both micro-HDMI and micro-USB ports. Nokia is said to be working to achieve 10 hours of battery life on its tablet.
Previous rumors have suggested that Nokia could be planning to hold an event in New York City on Sept. 26, and this latest leak alleges that this Windows RT tablet will be in attendance there. Exact launch and pricing details are still up in the air, but it's said that the Sirius tablet will be priced similarly to the iPad, and Nokia is also expected to sell a battery-equipped keyboard accessory along with other add-ons.
