Following months of leaks and rumors, Motorola finally took the wraps off of the Moto X earlier this month, giving us a glimpse at its new flagship smartphone and all of the special features that comes with it. Unfortunately for anyone that was sold on the Moto X immediately following Motorola's announcement, neither the company nor any of the five carriers that'll be stocking the device have given up any concrete launch dates. Recent leaks suggested that the Verizon variant could be set for an Aug. 23, but now it looks like that date might have changed.
According to an image of an inventory screen that's been sent to Android Central, Best Buy expects to launch the Moto X on Thursday, Aug. 29. That's a full 6 days later than the previously-leaked date and also happens to be the same date that Motorola's Droid Mini is slated to go on sale.
Motorola said in its Moto X announcement that the device would begin arriving in late August, a rather vague window in which this purported Aug. 29 launch would fit. A leaked Best Buy inventory screen isn't quite the same as an official announcement from Verizon, though, and so if you're on the big red carrier and are eager to give Motorola's next big thing a go, you may want to hold off on designating Aug. 29 as a "sick day" for now. Stay tuned and I'll let you know when you need to have your fake cough perfected.
