LG has already revealed some details on its upcoming G2 smartphone, including the device's name and the fact that it'll be powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor. The company's trickle of information ahead of its August 7 event may not be enough for some folks, though, which is where the rumor mill comes in.

Some new images of LG's flagship G2 have been posted to (and since removed from) Korean forum Daum, offering another early glimpse at its face as well as a peek under its battery cover. The front of the phone looks similar to the G2 that we've seen in previous leaks, complete with rounded corners, an LG logo at the bottom and a set of on-screen navigation keys. Around back we can see the volume and sleep buttons that the G2 has become known for, as well as a battery that reads "2610mAh."

The G2 is the follow-up to LG's 2012 flagship, the Optimus G, and it will be the first LG device to ditch the company's Optimus brand and go by the "G" branding. LG has confirmed that the G2 will feature a Snapdragon 800 chip at its core, and past reports have also pegged the handset as packing a 5.2-inch 1080p display, 13-megapixel camera and 2GB RAM.

So long as the rumors hold true, the G2 sounds like its got the makings of a respectable flagship smartphone, and it'll be interesting to see just how it performs in real life (and what it's like to use those crazy rear-mounted buttons). Good thing that August 7 is now less than two weeks away.
