Here in just a little while, Verizon is set to take the stage and reveal some new things. According to their initial invite, the Big Red carrier is gearing up to unveil new members of a "popular family of devices." When it comes to Verizon, that means we're talking about DROIDs. The brand has done well over the years, making quite a name for itself, and despite certain changes at Motorola that have taken place recently, Verizon was surely not going to lose out on its DROID supplier so soon.

So, later today, we'll see some new handsets join the DROID lineup, and while HTC has added some devices in the past, it sounds like all the new hardware at this event will be from Motorola. No surprise there, considering the leaks that we've been subject to over the last few weeks. They've come in droves, and by now we have a pretty clear picture as to what we should expect when Verizon pulls the curtain up. Figuratively.

But, while this event is a shared one, where both Verizon and Motorola will be unveiling new devices together, for a particular network, this is more of a Verizon event. After all, it was Verizon that announced it, and these devices will be Verizon Wireless exclusives. As usual. Sure, there might be variants that pop up in other markets, but here in the States these particular DROIDs you might be looking for will only pop up on Verizon's airwaves.

Motorola will get plenty of credit, or see plenty of derision, depending, at the event, though. After all, if it weren't for them, Verizon wouldn't be receiving at least three new DROID devices today, now would they? That's right! Three! According to the leaks we've been seeing over and over again, Verizon will announce the DROID Ultra, DROID MAXX, and the DROID Mini.

These new handsets are set to replace the current DROID line-up from Motorola, which means we'll probably see a price drop, or axing of the DROID RAZR M, the DROID RAZR MAXX HD, and the DROID RAZR HD. That's some sad news for anyone who was happy to see the RAZR brand resurrected, because it looks to be getting the can (again). Still, as long as the phones deliver, who cares if there's *another* brand name thrown in there, right?

Oh, but don't feel too bad for Motorola, if they don't get a lot of name dropping in Verizon's event today. After all, the Google company actually has its own event coming up right around the corner, where they'll be announcing a phone they've been working on for quite some time. Another device that we've seen splattered all over the Internet in leak after leak.

You guessed it: The Moto X.

On August 1, Motorola will finally officially unveil their newest "hero device," and do their best to woo the wireless market in their direction. Of course, with all the customization options that the Moto X is rumored to feature, and with all those sensors shoved inside, the Moto X sounds like it will be an interesting handset when it finally arrives on store shelves.

One big step for customer choice in the Moto X's department is availability, though. Sure, the DROIDs that Motorola and Verizon will be announcing later today will probably be impressive for what they offer, but you won't be able to use them unless you're a Verizon subscriber. When it comes to the Moto X, we've heard that it's going to land just about everywhere, even some regional carriers.

So, Motorola has a busy couple of weeks ahead of itself. And more than likely a very busy August with all these handsets becoming available right around the same time. But more than likely all the potential customers out there don't want to buy *all* of the new Motorola-branded devices, and they'll have to choose one over another. So, now, this is where my question to you comes in:
